Party time for Mitchells and Butler – Office Christmas Party Theming by Eventologists

Eventologists helped to make the party rock with theming and entertainment at Mitchells and Butler Head Office on Fleet Street this week for their annual staff Christmas party. The challenge was to set-up overnight for the party and then de-rig overnight to recover for business as usual for the next day. Team Eventologists always rise up to the challenge with a strong team led by Sital transformed the corporate space into the magic of Christmas and Winter Wonderland.

The balcony was draped in Fairy lights, our stunning trees were dotted around as statement pieces around the building. The band area was dressed with a grotto style ice canopy. An ice cave was created for the bar area and lit up in cool blues to create a great chill out space and drinking area for guests. Cool Blue theming meets Winter Wonderland in a contemporary and classy way was the ambience that Eventologists finally created. As Office Christmas Parties  go, this was a great one! Midnight struck 12 and our little helpers arrived again to clear the room. By 1am – all was quiet and the mammoth task of clearing up started. Within a few hours, the Mitchells and Butler office started to look like something of the past rather than a party platform. By 4am – the office was clear – the party was over for another year. Check out the before and after pictures of the event.

Testimonials

We’ve had some great feedback that we would like to share with our readers and would like to thank Mitchells and Butler for their trust in us to deliver their event
Congratulations for arranging such a fantastic Christmas party last night and for returning the offices to normality today so brilliantly.
It was a great evening which I am certain our colleagues enjoyed enormously. I am pretty sure that the event beat expectations.
The band was pitch perfect: it could not have been bad if its music encouraged the CEO onto the dance floor at one point!
I know that you all put a huge amount of effort in: thank you.

Brilliant job on the Xmas party last night mate, big thanks to all involved.

Just a quick note to say that last night was brilliant, everyone was so impressed. Please pass on my thanks to you and everyone else who helped organise the event

…… fantastic night folks – it was a tremendous success and you should all be so proud of yourselves for making it a party that we will be talking about for a long time to come.  Everyone appreciated the amount of hard work and time that went into ensuring that we all enjoyed ourselves – well done J. Please pass on thanks and congratulations to your teams.

Who can I thank for the absolutely fantastic time which I had last night. I don’t think I can find enough words of praise to thank everyone concerned for the first and hopefully not the last Christmas party.

Wanted to say a BIG thank you to you and your guys who did a fantastic job last night (and throughout the early morning to put everything back together!).  Your efforts were definitely worth it!

Orchard Hotel Launch at East Midlands Conference Centre by Eventologists

Eventologists created a real organic theme for the new De Vere Hotel near East Midlands Conference Centre when they opened officially in November 2012. The Orchard Hotel was turned into a true outdoor haven when 12 our stunning blossom trees were used to create an inside-outside theme for the launch. Amongst the showcase for the night was entertainment by the visually stunning Graffiti Classics, our petal arch showered guests with petals as they arrived and the lighting created effects created by box media off set the entire room. We share with you some of the highlights of the night. If you have a launch or special event that you need experts for why not call us on 07973 736061 or e-mail us on info@eventologists.co.uk

You’re off to University...so, let’s Party!........

You’re off to University...so, let’s Party!........

Every student knows that theme parties can be some of the most fun events to attend during your years at University. The parties themselves are great and the dressing up and creation of a costume can often be the highlight of the night.

Building a dressing up draw with a few key pieces for the numerous themed parties will prove itself invaluable and so useable, over and over again! So here are some great tips to building a wardrobe full of basic mixing and matching. You probably have some of these theme party “essentials” in your wardrobe already.

Read on to see our top picks!

Party: A wild or animal theme, or any party that requires a quick and cute costume.

How to Style it: There’s a reason animal ears are number one on our list of essentials! They’re cute, take up virtually no space and are relatively inexpensive and are super easy to style. Search for a pair of ears in the children’s section online all year round! Pop a pair on with any outfit and you’re automatically a cute kitten or sassy bunny.....

Party: Army, or hunting theme.

How to Style it: Another easy pick, grab a cheap camouflage tee-shirt or jacket from a high street or Army-surplus shop, add jeans and boots, some green and black strips on your cheeks and you’re good to go!

Party: 80's

How to Style it: Any ridiculously bright bottoms works for these parties, neon leggings are  your biggest asset. Your leggings/bottoms will be the focal point of your outfit but remember to go equally bold and bright with the rest of your look if you’re dressing for an ’80s theme! Make sure to check out Ebay for deals!

Party: The Only Way is Essex/ Geordie Shore.

How to Style it: A ridiculously tacky, brightly-coloured mini dress deserves a place on this list simply because it’s inexpensive, works for a variety of themes, and is easy to style for a variety of party themes. Seriously, who hasn’t been to one of the above parties?

Party: Cowboy/ Country theme.

How to Style it: Another easy essential that you likely already own, cowboy boots add a fun and flirty vibe to any outfit. Whether you tuck your skinny jeans into them, wear your boots with a sundress you will certainly rock at sundown.....

Colour Trends for Events 2012 to 2013

Colour Trends for Events 2012 to 2013

Did you know that Event designs often follow fashion colour trends?....what I mean by that statement is that you will often find the more prevalent and predominant colours featured within any event theme may often follow the actual latest trends....

So what colours will stay and what will make a comeback for the remainder of 2012?

Red, white and blue have been incredibly strong this year following the Diamond Jubilee and the current 2012 Olympics. These will remain strong for the remainder of the year whilst blue will grow, red will definitely fall back next year according to a colour trend forecast.
Browns are growing in importance; they add depth and are great alternative base tones. Black meanwhile, sits on the forever eternal circle and seems in danger of being pushed aside. However, Vera Wang, designer to the superstars reported that 9 out of 15 wedding dresses made were black.... Will black be seen again as avant-garde?
Peaceful neutrals will be strong in 2013. Whilst metallics, once very rare, have become so much a part of everyday colour language. Look out for metallics in all colours instead of the standard gold, silver and bronze.
Whilst red becomes less important, we will see a growing influence of yellow along with orange shades - these are happy and bright and will make any event stand out from the crowd. Pink continues to make itself known for 2013.
So are you in ‘colour trend’ for your event? Call us and find out more....

Are you a Save*ologist

Are you a Save*ologist or do you just waste money organising events?

Are you a Save*ologist or do you just waste money organising events?
So many people ask us about why they should hire a one stop provider or event planner for their corporate function. After working with us just on one function, they start seeing the benefits and never look back. Instead of thinking that hiring an event planner is a big expense, we describe these people as Save*ologists because in booking us they have saved money and time so we have practically paid for ourselves and made you look good too! Here’s just one or two ways we can make savings for you;

Discounts through our partnerships and affiliations
You’d be surprised at how many people simply accept (and pay) the asking price of venues at face value. By talking to us, perhaps we can suggest new venues that you did not even consider, or even get a better deal from the venue that you want because we work their regularly. This applies with caterers, DJ’s and all sorts of other suppliers. It’s a win win for all.

Discounts through Economies of Scale
If you are booking an entire package with us, we are able to look at the project holistically and question all areas of decision making, is this really necessary here. Can we double up on this and use it twice without anyone noticing. It’s all about economies of scale and looking at the project as a whole, which allows us to propose creative cost saving ideas.

Saving you time and sanity because you are dealing with fewer suppliers If you are dealing with several suppliers, imagine the sheer time you waste in negotiation, then selection of suppliers, then briefing them, then meeting them, then finalizing with them, then meeting them at the venue – phew we are tired just thinking about it!

Hiring an event planner makes good business sense
Not only in saving you money by handling your logistics, but also in preventing you from making mistakes that could cost you thousands of pounds. Here’s a poster that you can use as a screen saver, if you are a true Save*ologist

Eventologists – Their magical transformation skills showed no limits as Loughborough University mystically and majestically transformed into Hogwarts!

For the lucky graduates of Loughborough University, the entrance to a truly amazing and enchanting evening began by stepping through Platform 9 3/4 appeared at the doors of their Student Union last Friday evening! For those that wished hard enough, the wall magically opened up for them and transported them to The Great Hall of Hogwarts School of Wizardy and Witchcraft.

The hall itself was a spectacle to behold and if you let yourself go, it seemed that you really had travelled into another world! Candles magically floated from the star clad ceiling and flames roared from the lanterns on the stone walls. For those more adventurous, Diagon Alley was but a short walk. Once there the scenery changed dramatically and resembled the street where wizards and witches go to relax after a hard day's work in Professor Snapes class or to forget about the horrible Malfoy boy that has made their day all the more unpleasant. Butter Beers, confectionary and even being wed in the chapel was on offer here and provided endless entertainment for the Loughborough Students... and if you looked hard enough, you could spot Ol' Hagrid  tucking into some delights.

Even though the evening wore on, the magic did not end and characters from Hogwarts kept popping up as well as the more famous faces of Pixie Lott, Mistajam and Piff The Magic Dragon!.....the entertainment for the evening. As more butter beer was drank, people danced the night away in the Great Hall and some even found refuge in the Library with their nose in a book. At 2am (much later than the usual curfew in place at Hogwarts), the evening and another year at Hogwarts came to an end! This marked the end of the student's chapter as a Witch or Wizard pupil, but did not mark the end for the magic of Hogwarts.

How to Choose an Effective Theme for your Corporate Event

How to Choose an Effective Theme for your Corporate Event

How to Choose an Effective Theme for your Corporate Event

The aim in achieving the right theme for your event is to aid and unite everyone's focus and energy.
After you select your objective(s) and have a written agenda, you should begin to select and develop your theme.
Here are some tips for coming up with a meaningful, on-target theme, which can create a rallying cry for your objectives and goals:
•    Review your meeting agenda to decide which theme best relates to your objective
•    Consider your employees- what would appeal to them
•    Remember the theme will have to appeal equally to men and to women.
•    Is there anything seasonal you can tie the theme in with for example Valentine’s Day, the Oscars, St Georges Day......
•    Make sure your theme is up to date with latest trends - it will be more memorable.
•    Very important is that the theme must be fun.
•    Once you've selected your theme, you must then see how it can tie in with the agenda.
•    Build every element around your theme by using references though-out relating to the theme
•    If possible, create a logo-look for your catchy theme. You can add this to hats, t-shirts, mugs, pens, screen savers etc.
•    Use the theme on all the literature.
•    Use prizes and freebies that fit with your theme.

Meeting Santa

Posted by Eventologists at 02:32 0 comments

Meeting Santa himself comes top of most kid’s lists of things to do at Christmas……
Visiting Santa in his Grotto is one of our favourite modern Christmas traditions. Is there a more amusing photograph than you as a child visiting Santa’s grotto and sitting on Santa’s knee?
Did you know the world's first Christmas grotto was opened in 1879 in Lewis’s Department Store, Liverpool and was named ‘Christmas Fairyland’. One hundred and forty two years later Christmas grottos remain very much part of this joyous tradition but they are now bigger, more elaborate, adventurous and imaginative than ever!....and that’s where Eventologists comes to the rescue every time, where every year we look forward to the hustle and bustle of designing, creating and imagineering a ‘wonderland of magic’ to entice those little ones into meet the man in red.

So what are the trends leaning to this year? Winter Wonderlands and Ice Palaces, Giant Baubles and Candy Canes, Animated Characters, Snow Globes and we definitely think a red white and blue splash of colour will be visible to all these magical decorations, because after all this has been a very special year here in the UK ......

Catch up with you later in the year when you have been wowed by one of the many ‘Eventologists’ themed Christmas Grottos. In the meantime we have a direct call coming in from Lapland about some giant Gingerbread men......
